Von der alten Molkerei zum Übergangswohnheim. Unser Büro arbeitet an der Umnutzung eines Gebäudes zur Schaffung von zwölf temporären Wohnungen. Anstelle einer Treppe im Inneren des Gebäudes, die zu den alten Räumlichkeiten führt, haben wir uns für eine Verbindung zwischen den einzelnen Einheiten entschieden, um so viel Raum wie möglich im Inneren zu gewinnen und nicht nur einen Erschließungsraum, sondern auch einen Begegnungsraum in Form eines Laubengangs zu schaffen. Das gesamte Projekt wirkt durch seine Form und den Abstand zur Straße wie ein geschützter Raum im ohnehin ruhigen Berliner Stadtteil Lankwitz.
Die Auswahl der Materialien erfolgte nach sorgfältiger Analyse des Bestandes. Die Farben der alten Molkerei wurden ebenso beibehalten wie ihre Formen. Für die neuen Elemente wie die Galerie, die Treppe und die neuen Baukörper wurden hingegen metallische Materialien gewählt, die sich farblich abheben und den Eingriff des Architekten in die Geschichte des Ortes unterstreichen.
From old dairy to new temporary residence. Our office is working on the reuse of the building to create twelve flats for temporary use. The old premises are being disrupted by eliminating the existing internal staircases in order to obtain as much space as possible from the interiors. Instead, the outdoor spaces are given the role of connector between the individual units, creating not only an access space, but also a meeting space. The building gathers on itself around a green inner courtyard, created from an old asphalt square. The whole project is a bit like a protected area in the already quiet area of Lankwitz in Berlin, both because of its shape and its distance from the street.
The choice of materials was made through a careful analysis of the existing building. The colors of the old dairy are retained, as are its shapes. On the other hand, with regard to the new, such as the gallery, the stairs and the new volumes; metallic materials were chosen that stand out in coloring, emphasizing the architect's intervention within the history of the place.
